What client confidentiality means to me
It goes without saying that I treat confidentiality as one of the most important aspects of my work.
Not only because my college (the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario) states that client confidentiality is one of the pillars of our code of ethics, but also because I feel that everyone deserves to maintain their privacy and integrity when seeking healthcare, especially for pelvic health issues.
What does client confidentiality mean to me?
Keeping all the information relevant to my clients’ case strictly between me and them
Not talking about my clients’ complaints or reason(s) for seeking treatment in public spaces or with spouse, family members, friends or acquaintances
Only revealing their information to third party members with their explicit consent
Only using their testimonials with their explicit consent and initials
Only revealing their information to the appropriate authority when their safety or someone else’s safety is in question
Don’t hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or concerns regarding confidentiality.
