C-section scar massage & release

Hamilton Pelvic Physio for Cesarean section scar

A Cesarean section is a major abdominal surgery that cuts through multiple layers of tissue, which normally provide core support and stability.

These tissues are vital for tasks like lifting, carrying, and bending. When this system is damaged by a large incision and subsequent scar tissue formation, it's very important to give it the love and care it needs to heal properly, so you can begin to return to more normal activity.

C-section scars, like any other type of scar, can form internal adhesions that lead to tissue restriction, structural imbalances, and poor blood flow. If left untreated, scar adhesions from a C-section may contribute to issues such as low back pain, pain during penetrative sex, and bladder problems.

C-section scar massage is a gentle technique that helps to loosen the scar and reduce discomfort and adhesion. In addition to manual mobilization, I also use a scar release device called the MPS Dolphin Neurostim. The Dolphin Neurostim™ delivers gentle microcurrents deep into the skin tissue, helping to restore mobility, improve appearance, and decrease pain both at the scar site and elsewhere in the body that the scar may be affecting. In many cases, relief can be experienced after just one session!
