Pelvic rehabilitation postpartum

Hamilton Pelvic Physiotherapy for Postpartum Rehab

Every postpartum mom deserves pelvic care.

Many are surprised to learn that most of the changes to the pelvic floor occur during pregnancy and not during childbirth. Regardless of delivery method, if you were pregnant, you experienced significant change to your abdominal muscles, pelvic floor, and supporting and stabilizing muscles due to the necessary anatomical changes that have to occur during pregnancy to accommodate a growing baby. In physiotherapy, I assess the strength of those muscles postpartum and show you how to get them strong and functional again, so you can get back to doing everything you love—and feel good doing it.

When should you start physiotherapy postpartum?

Usually around 6-8 weeks postpartum. However, if you have issues such as low back pain, pubic pain, or hip pain that needs some attention beforehand, you are welcome to come in earlier.
